San Bernardino Attackers Taken $28,500 Loan From Online Lender: FBI

In the latest update the FBI has fund the couple attackers of San Bernardino, California, on Wednesday, December 2, had taken a loan of $28,500 from a San Francisco-based online lender Prosper ahead of committing act of terror.

The money was deposited in the WebBank.com account of Farook on November 18.

While exploring more on the loan transaction the investigators found Farook withdrew $10,000 in cash on November 20. Two more transfers were made of $5,000 each onto Farook’s mother’s bank account.

Police is trying to figure out whether the $10,000 was used to reimburse Marquez for the purchase of weapons.

Syed Rizwan Farook was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Pakistani immigrates and was a US citizen. He grew up in Riverside, California.

Farook’s wife Tashfeen Malik was born in Pakistan and had spent most of her life in Saudi Arabia. She came to know Farook over the internet and met him first time in Saudi Arabia. She entered the US on a K-1 fiancee visa with a Pakistani passport and her application for permanent residency was completed in September 2014.

The two had no criminal record and their names were not put on the terrorist watch list too. However, FBI is considering the shooting as an act of terror.

The couple died in gunbattle with police while on the chase after mass shooting.

Police raided their Riverside home and found 2,000 9-mm handgun rounds, 2,500 .223-caliber rounds, and the tools that could be used to make improvised explosive devices.
