Isaac Sesi’s project Sesi Technologies and Bonolo Monthe’s Maungo Craft were honored with GoGettaz Agripreneur prizes on Thursday for their innovative ventures in the agri-food sector.
The Sesi Technologies is an agri-tech firm from Ghana and works in empowering African farmers by providing them affordable technology with aim to increase farm productivity and minimize losses.
Maungo Craft is a gourmet preserve firm from Botswana. It uses underused indigenous fruits to convert those into low-to-no-sugar preserves.
The Generation Africa GoGettaz Agripreneur competition awarded $50,000 to each company to help them kick start their business.
The organization aims in helping such young entrepreneurs in the continent who are seeking to make career in the agri-food sector.
The Generation Africa initiative was launched together by global crop nutrition group Yara International and media and technology firm Giant telecommunications.
The aim of Generation Africa is to inspire young African entrepreneurs who want to join the agri-food sector.
Launched in May this year, the campaign has reached to about 46 million young Africans.
