Singida Municipal Council has collected 6.9bn/- in revenue between July and September, this year from its various sources.
The Municipal Council Vice-Chairman, Mr Hamisi Mumbee, told a council meeting here that the revenue collection was only 40 per cent of the municipality’s projection to collect 17bn/- in the 2013/14 financial year.
Tabling the revenue and expenditure report to the committee, Mr Mumbee said of the amount 98.2m/- was raised from their local sources while 51.8m/- was subsidy they received from the central government.
Moreover, he said, the central government also issued 5.4bn/- for salaries, 511.4m/- for other causes and 864.2m/- for development projects.
Meanwhile, Mughunga ward has been number one in revenue collection. Up to September, this year, it had recorded 3.2m/- in revenue collection, followed by Masauya ward. He named the last five wards in revenue collection as Ughandi, Merya , Kinyeto , Itaja and Msisi.
