The Arusha-based businessman and mineral dealer, who was gunned down by bandits last Wednesday, will be buried in the Mirerani Hills of Simanjiro on Tuesday during an expensive funeral event estimated to cost about 100m/-.
A special funeral hearse, which is to carry the body from Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre (ALMC) morgue in the city to Mirerani has been ordered from the neighbouring country of Kenya.
Mr Erasto Msuya, 43, a resident of Sakina area in Arusha City, was killed at the junction of Kilimanjaro International Airport as he was driving from Mirerani, in Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, heading for Boma Ngombe section of Hai District, in Kilimanjaro Region.
He is survived by a wife and several children. The elder child of the deceased, Simon Erasto who is studying in Australia, has arrived in Arusha.
An official statement from the funeral committee here said that the late mineral dealer, owner and director of SG Resort Hotel, will be buried at the estate belonging to his father, Mr Kikaango Msuya in the Mirerani Hills where the deceased also owned Tanzanite mining operations.
It is further said that the deceased had left a will in which he asked to be buried at Kairo area in Simanjiro. Information has it that so far two people have been arrested in connection with the murder, in which the deceased, who was driving a Range-Rover Vogue, was showered with bullets on his chest by two unknown people who later escaped on a motorbike.
