Social Democratic Party woos voters in Burera

The Social Democratic Party (PSD) will strive for the development of all Rwandans, ensure equitable social justice for all and dignity. The remarks were made by Faustin Nzabonimpa, the PSD representative in Northern Province during a rally in in Gagogo Sector, Burera District on Wednesday.

Nzabonimpa told Burera residents that it’s important to vote for PSD candidates in the September 16 parliamentary elections to ensure equitable development adding that the party helped formulate the community health insurance scheme.

“We [Rwanda] have done a lot in health sector and PSD played a big role in  Mutuelle de Sante,” he said.

He assured supporters that the party would implement its manifesto to the letter, outlining social welfare, health care, education and poverty fight among their priorities.

“The party is strongly positioned to win more seats based on its record,” said Jean Baptist Hategekimana, a supporter.

In the 2008 parliamentary campaign, PSD emerged second after an RPF-led coalition, with 13 per cent of the vote, subsequently securing seven seats in the House.
