European sides Switzerland and Germany have arrived in the country ahead of the 2013 Sitball World Championships, scheduled for October, 11-12 at the National Paralympic Committee gymnasium and Amahoro indoor stadium in Remera.
The two teams jetted in on Saturday night. The other regional teams are expected to start arriving tomorrow ahead of the tournament.
They include; Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Uganda. All delegations will be accommodated at Hilltop Hotel.
Hosts Rwanda will kick off defence of their world title against debutants Kenya, on October 11 and on same day, Rwanda will also play against Germany, a team expected to cause the biggest challenge for the holders.
The chairman of Rwanda National Paralympics Committee, Celestin Nzeyimana said “We are going to have a spectacular event where fans and players will enjoy the atmosphere around Petit Stade.”
During the opening and closing ceremonies, we will have promotions from different popular artists including Jay Polly the king of Hip Hop music in Rwanda.
