The 21-year-old model’s collection was unveiled at London hotel Claridge’s on Sunday, February 16. He’s a boy.” “I was so nervous before they finally showed the finished version to me,” she told U.K.’s the Telegraph of the project. “We only started working on them at the end of last year. These things can go so wrong. They covered my eyes before they finally showed them to me. The build up was intense, I can tell you.” © AceShowbiz.com

Heathrow jet pilot saw ‘UFO’ that ‘passed within feet of his plane’

A passenger jet pilot has told how he was sure his plane would be hit by a UFO at 34,000ft. The pilot described the craft as shaped like a rugby ball or cigar and metallic in appearance. File picture The captain claimed the ‘metallic’ bright silver ‘cigar/rugby ball-like’ UFO came within a few feet of his A320 Airbus. He spotted the object travelling towards the jet out of a left-hand side cockpit window. The close encounter took place about 20 miles west of Heathrow, although the Airbus is not believed to have taken off from the airport. A report into the incident states: ‘He (the pilot) was under the apprehension that they were on collision course with no time to react. ‘His immediate reaction was to duck to the right and reach over to alert the FO (first officer); there was no time to talk to alert him. ‘The captain was fully expecting to experience some kind of impact with a conflicting aircraft.’ Immediately after the incident the pilot checked the aircraft’s instruments and reported it to air traffic control but there was no sign of the UFO. Meteorological balloons and other aircraft in the area were all ruled out during an investigation by the UK Airprox Board, which looks into near misses in British airspace. The report found that it was ‘not possible to trace the object or determine the likely cause of the sighting’, which took place at about 6:30pm on July 13 last year. Dr David Clarke, the UFO consultant for the National Archives, told The Telegraph: ‘This latest sighting is interesting, because it is detailed and clear. These pilots don’t file these reports for something and nothing. There was obviously something there.’ The Ministry of Defence closed its UFO desk and hotline in 2009.

M&S apology over Muslim alcohol refusal

Marks & Spencer has apologised after a Muslim member of staff refused to serve a customer trying to buy alcohol. M&S has a growing food business along side its clothing stores The retailer said it usually tried to assign “suitable roles” to staff who could not handle certain items because of their religious beliefs. It said this policy had not been followed in a case highlighted by the Telegraph over the weekend. Consuming alcohol is forbidden in Islam, and some Muslims refuse to handle it at all. An unnamed customer told the newspaper they had tried to buy a bottle of champagne in an M&S store, but the member of staff “was very apologetic but said she could not serve me” and asked the customer to use another till. A spokesperson for M&S said: “Where we have an employee whose religious beliefs restrict food or drink they can handle, we work closely with our member of staff to place them in suitable role, such as in our clothing department or bakery in foods. ‘Beyond common sense’ “As a secular business we have an inclusive policy that welcomes all religious beliefs, whether across our customer or employee base… We apologise that this policy was not followed in the case reported.” Other retailers said they had similar policies, applied on a case-by-case basis, that allow Muslims to avoid handling alcohol or pork, and allow similar exceptions for other religions. But speaking to Radio 5 live’s On The Money programme on Sunday, Andy Street, managing director of John Lewis, said the company did not have a similar policy, and questioned whether members of staff should have the right to refuse to serve customers. “This is taking it one stage beyond common sense,” he told the programme. “We certainly have never had any issue with our teams… we’ve not even had to have a policy on this. I would hope [members of staff] would understand that in their job this was probably going to be required.” BBC

Killed by a single punch: Caught on film, moment love tangle ended in tragedy in a country club car park

Confronting his wife’s alleged secret lover proved a fatal decision for British man Matthew Welford, who died after a single punch. Tragic: This horrific footage shows the moment Mr Welford is punched by his love rival A security camera in the car park of a country club caught the deadly blow to Mr Welford when he challenged Alexander Frew over a suspected affair with his wife Sarah. Mr Welford takes a couple of intimidating steps forward to be within centimetres of Frew. Finally Frew snaps. He throws a single punch with his left hand that connects with his rival’s right cheek. Mr Welford’s body goes immediately limp and he falls, hands still in his pockets, to slam into the ground back-first. As Mr Welford falls, Frew throws several air swings before he realises he’s knocked the man unconscious. Mr Welford, 41, died eight days after being punched outside Garforth Country Club in Leeds on June 4. Frew, 44, was arrested and this week handed a three-and-a-half year prison sentence after being found guilty of manslaughter, The Telegraph reported. Britney Spears Calls Reality Show With Kevin Federline ‘Worst Thing’

The pop star regretted doing ‘Britney and Kevin: Chaotic’ but did not feel the same way about her movie ‘Crossroads’. Britney Spears admitted that her reality show with ex-husband Kevin Federline was a big stumble in her career. The ”Perfume” singer called “Britney and Kevin: Chaotic”, that lasted only five episodes, “…the worst thing I’ve done in my career.” “Chaotic” aired from May 17 to June 14, 2005 on UPN. It took home videos of the in-love couple during her 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour in Europe. Over the course of four weeks, the series lost more than 1.6 million viewers. Critics have also panned it and called it a career suicide for Britney. In a new interview with U.K.’s The Telegraph, Britney said, “I would never do something like that again. Actually, that was really bad. That was probably the worst thing I’ve done in my career.” And when asked whether she felt the same way about her 2002 movie “Crossroads”, she “looks suddenly outraged and clutches her hand to her heart. ‘No!’ she shouts, springing to life. ‘I like Crossroads! F**k you!’,” the Telegraph wrote. Britney and Kevin were married for two years before divorcing in 2006. Prior to dating Kevin, Britney had a high-profiled relationship with Justin Timberlake. The couple famously wore the same matching denim outfit to 2001 American Music Awards. “It was a pretty carefree time,” she recalled. “We were just, like, ‘We look great, let’s go!’ I have great memories of that time: there were a lot of rehearsals, but there was also a lot of clubbing and a lot of dancing.” © AceShowbiz.com

Nigella Lawson Accused of Abusing Drugs

Nigella’s former assistants allege in court that she allowed them to use her ex-husband Charles Saatchi’s credit card in exchange for their silence concerning her drug use. Nigella Lawson used drugs “daily” for a decade, her former assistants told court. The allegation came into light during a pre-trial hearing in London where her two former assistants, Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo, were charged with stealing money from her former husband Charles Saatchi over 300,000 pounds ($484,600) to spend on luxury items and holidays. Francesca and Elisabetta told the court on November 26 that Nigella used cocaine, cannabis and prescription pills “daily” for a decade, but she kept it from her then-husband because she knew he would “not have condoned” the action. The sisters said that Nigella authorized the use of Charles’ company credit card for their personal use in exchange for their “understanding” to keep silence on the issue, U.K.’s The Telegraph reports. “In a nutshell, we submit that she had a guilty secret from her husband, her then husband. She did not want him to know of her use of cocaine and that is highly relevant to the defense case,” Elisabetta Grillo’s lawyer Anthony Metzer told Isleworth Crown Court. Prosecuting lawyer Jane Carpenter said, “This is a totally scurrilous account which has been raised by the defence, and the timing is no coincidence at all.” She noted that despite being arrested a year ago and were charged in March, the two only made the allegation now. An email dated October 10 from Charles to Nigella seemingly confirmed the drug use. Charles wrote, “Now the Grillos will get off on the basis that you were off your head on drugs and you allowed the sisters to spend whatever they liked, and yes, I believe every word the Grillos said.” A representative for Nigella, meanwhile, told E! News, “As court proceedings are live we can’t comment, I’m afraid.” © AceShowbiz.com
