Tanga will host the proposed investment forum organised to boost the commercial and economic potentials found in the four Northern Zone regions.
Already Arusha has just hosted the preceding initiative with a similar meeting held here at the end of last week, when the government here called on potential investors to invest in Arusha insisting that the Safari Capital, maintains high potential in investment opportunities while the city’s safety is also assured.
The Arusha Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Magesa Mulongo, made the call when briefing investors and high-ranking government officials on region’s potential investment opportunities ahead of the northern zone investors forum, which is scheduled between September 26 and 27, this year in Tanga.
“Security in the region has been maintained despite the few hiccups that happened few months ago. So, I call upon all people who are willing to invest in Arusha to grab the opportunity because we have put in place all the necessary infrastructures for them to do business,” the RC assured investors.
He said Arusha has a widerange of investment opportunities including wildlife and cultural tourism industry and mining particularly in cutting and polishing tanzanite.
He, however, revealed that the government has managed to arrest key suspects who allegedly involved in importing and exploding bombs, in the two unfortunate incidents that occurred here in early May and Mid-June, killing at least six.
RC Mulongo who was not ready to reveal the number of arrested suspects said: “We have arrested those people who were involved in orchestrating the importation of the deadly bombs and now we are working on nabbing those who were commissioned to throw the gadgets in the two incidents.”
“Very soon we’ll release names of those who did so. It is early now to say as our security organs are still hunting for those who were given tenders of throwing the bombs,” the RC said’
