Tanzania: Ally takes home DGC fiddle golf top prize

Hamisi Ally maintained his good form to emerge the Division A winner in this week’s Fiddle Golf Tournament held on Wednesday at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) in the City.

Playing off handicap-5, the former national team captain, impressed when he return with two-under 38 points in the 18 holes Stable Ford formant competition.

It was the best score of the day in all divisions. His score has improved from last week’s 30 points, which saw him finish second behind winner, Pembe Kondo who had 37.

The runners up position this week went to Michael Makala, handicap-4, who collected level 36 points as Iddi Mzaki, handicap-5 with three points adrift from winner settled second runners up.

Playing off handicap-13, Aliasgar Mustafa fired one-under 37 points to grab Division B top prize, as Akil Jaffer handicap- 19 and handicap-13, Joseph Tango — a Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) Vice- Chairman carded 35 and 34 points to finish in first and second runners up positions respectively.

Tango won on count-back after Vikas Varma who also had 34 points settled behind him. Last week’s winners were no match this time around. In Division C, Navin Kanabar handicap- 27, collected 32 points that earned him top prize, Patrick Waweru handicap-24, finished first runners up with 31 points, while second runners up position went to handicap-24, Aggrey Oriwo with 30 points.

Fatma Makame most active and consistence player handicap-23, returned 28 points but still managed to take home a ladies top prize as runners up place went to Tayana William handicap-26, who carded 30 points. The winners were awarded with different prizes in the tournament.
