The Tanzania senior men’s cricket team is expected to have sports tour of Mumbai, India in December this year.
An official from the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) Kazim Nasser told the ‘Sunday News’ in Dar es Salaam that the tour aims at sharpening the national team to their high level.
He said that the team is expected to depart on December 22, this year and return back in the country on January 3 next year. “Plans are well under way for our senior men’s team tour to Mumbai, this will be for intensive training,” he said.
Nasser said that apart from training programmes which the team will have while in Mumbai, it will also play several friendly games against local teams there.
“We are planning several friendly games, it will be good test for the team as we gear up to build strong team ready for international assignments next year,” he said.
He added that they chose India tour as the country is well known for its prowess in the game of cricket and facilities are of high standard.
“It is always nice to learn from better teams,” he said. Nasser said that they are sure that the team will learn a lot from India and the trip will bear the desirable fruits. India is among power houses in cricket.
