Addressing to the question of employment for youth who have completed certificate and diploma training the Deputy Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Abdallah Ulega, told the parliament they will have opportunity for self-employment after establishment of the incubation centre.
Ngara MP, Alex Gashaza (CCM) asked the minister, “What is the government doing to establish modern animal schemes that could also be used to empower young people and avoid conflicts between herders and farmers?”
Through Livestock Training Agency (LITA) the government is working on plans where trained and certificate youth can start their own husbandry projects.
Alex argued earlier areas were allocated for farming and animal grazing but later with the increase of population lands were invaded and caused conflicts.
The minister replied that after the youth graduates they will have an opportunity for self-employment through animal keeping and can start their own farms.
Ulega added that the government has also established tutorial training for such youth in Simanjiro, Manyara region and soon it will be rolled out to all district councils across Tanzania.
He further said that such training aims at improving livestock breeds, right usage of drugs, control of diseases, understanding of law and regulations.
The minister continued saying the plan is focused to increase productivity of raw materials from livestock too.
He added further, “In addition to these efforts, the ministry continues to encourage farmers to set up areas for production of quality animals.”
