Tanzanian Manufacturers Eyeing Kenyan Market

Kenya’s market for industrial goods is growing at rapid speed and this is well known among the Tanzanian manufacturers. Eyes are now turned towards it as Kenyan got the income to purchase the items.

Addressing to the media in Kenyan capital Nairobi the Tanzanian High Commissioner to Kenya, Pindi Chana, said the country has one of the fastest growing middle classes in the region having disposal income and so manufacturers are seeking the opportunities.

Adding further on the occasion of the upcoming Made in Tanzania Week Expo he said the event will offer an opportunity to Tanzanian industrial sector to showcase products to Kenyan consumers.

The Made in Tanzania Week Expo is scheduled to be held between April 25 and 28 in the capital with aims to create more awareness of Tanzanian prodcuts.

The four-day event is organized by Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Marketing and the Tanzania Private Sector. It will be featuring industrial products and services mainly in agribusiness, culture, technology, tourism, and arts and craft sectors.

It will also help the Tanzanian products to create market linkages with major supermarkets and other supply chains.

Chana noted that the event will create a platform for investors too for exploring further partnership room as producers and private sectors are looking ahead to connect with their counterparts in Kenya to pursue joint ventures.

The expo will also focus in promoting tourist destinations of Tanzania to the Kenyan people.
