Tracy Stanley emerged overall winner of the Special National Ladies Golf Team fund-raising tournament held at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) over the weekend.
The 18 holes event was aimed at assisting the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) prepare the national ladies team, ahead of the third edition of the East and Central African Challenge Trophy scheduled for Lusaka, Zambia from June 3 to 5, this year.
Stanley’s scored 37 to win the top prize. Second overall winner’s prize went to Athumani Chiundu with level 36 points. Hamis Ally was also all smiles once again as he finished Division A’s top winner with 36 points, adding to last Wednesday’s Fiddle clean sheet.
Pembe Kondo won the division’s runner-up spot with 34 points. In Division B category, the top prize was won by Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) Vice- Chairman Joseph Tango, who carded 35 points as vice-captain Salvatory Lwabizi took runner-up position after collecting 33 points.
Ally Nazarali returned 36 points to win Division C’s top prize while Tahir Jabir finished runner-up with 33 points. National ladies team member Angel Eaton collected 31 points to top the ladies category, with Fatma Makame taking the runner-up spot.
