The Tanzania Sports Writers Association (TASWA) treasurer, Sultani Sikilo was laid to rest at Kibada, Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.
It was all in sombre mood as hundreds of mourners turned up in the burial ceremony led by TASWA officials, family members, neigbours, friends and journalists.
Sports journalists in the country woke up to sad news following the sudden demise of Sikilo. He died at the Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) after a short battling with liver complications.
According to TASWA Secretary General, Amir Mhando, the late Sikilo was initially admitted at Temeke Hospital on Thursday, but his condition worsened on Friday when he was referred to MNH. He could not make it and died on the same night.
