The Blessed Sister group will perform at this year’s KigaliUp music festival which will be held from July 13-15 at Amahoro stadium’s parking ground.
Rebecca Barinda, the president of the group, said the show will appeal to a diverse audience.
“We are honored to participate in the KigaliUp festival and we promise the public a great gospel performance on Sunday,” said Barinda.
The Blessed Sisters are a Rwandan gospel group composed of sisters, Rebecca Barinda, Peace Benedata and Dorcas Asiimwe, all talented musicians who can keep the crowd at their feet throughout the show.
The headliners for KigaliUp 2013 are international acts, such as HabibKoite and Bamada from Mali, MA IA from Kenya and Joey Blake from USA. But there will be a lot of quality music coming from local musicians, too, including Jay Polly, Gaby, Shanel, Makanyaga, Ikobe, SafaPapy John, Mani Martin, Dream Boys, Rafiki, Riderman and Liza Kamikazi, among others.
Music lovers are encouraged not to miss the concert.
Apart from a variety of music ranging from Hip-hop, Afrobeat, Blues, Rumba, Funk and Reggae, this year’s festival will also boast of two live stages, a family zone, a beer garden and lots of food as well as arts and crafts stalls.
KigaliUp aims at enhancing the local music industry by training sound and stage technicians while helping emerging local artistes.
