The national U-20 women soccer team ‘The Tanzanite’ qualified to the next round of the African qualifiers for FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after thumping Mozambique away 5-1.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Acting General Secretary, who is also the federation’s Information Officer, Boniface Wambura, confirmed the results, saying the Tanzanite produced yet another scintillating performance to record a 15-1 victory on aggregate.
In the first leg match played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam two weeks ago, the girls recorded a resounding 10-0 to move in pole position to the next round of the continental qualifiers.
The team under coach Rogasian Kaijage will now face either Botswana or South Africa in the second round. The second leg matches will be played on either January 24, 25 and 26, next year. The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held next year in Canada.
Seventeen African countries will compete in the tournament. Two teams will represent Africa at the global tournament fixed for 5-24 August, next year in Canada.
The countries, among others, are South Africa, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zambia.
Meanwhile, venue pack ticket information for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 has been unveiled by Canadian Women’s National Team players Christine Sinclair, Erin McLeod and Carmelina Moscato at Edmonton City Hall on 28 October, this year.
It was also announced that the on-sale date for the first phase of ticket sales will be 28 November, this year. Fans that purchase venue packs can save up to 20 per cent, with groups and clubs offered venue pack savings of up to 30 per cent off regular individual match ticket prices.

Venue pack ticket purchasers will have the first opportunity to purchase their tickets for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 when they go on sale 28 November, this year at FIFA.com/Canada2014.
In the first phase before the Official Draw in the Spring of 2014, only venue packs will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis.
