Kigali, Rwanda – September 13th, 2013. – Tigo Rwanda, the most innovative telecommunications operator in the country, introduced today a new service which allows the use of Tigo Cash for bus ticket payment.
From today, Tigo customers registered with Tigo Cash will have the facility to pay for their bus tickets straight from their phones, from anywhere and at anytime of the day.
In less than two minutes, travelers are able to book and pay for their tickets. The service is available for ‘Volcano Agency’ destinations while more others are registering. Users will be required to dial *777# to book and receive their ticket number, then, *200*1*<ticket number># to confirm and purchase.
Daniel Barrientos, Head of Mobile Financial Services at Tigo Rwanda explained. “With the launch of the service, Tigo customers would be able to relax, continue with daily dues and report right on time for departure.”
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Diego Camberos, General Manager at Tigo Rwanda said: “In line with our commitment to introduce the ‘Digital lifestyle’ to Rwanda, We are delighted to integrate bus payment services on Tigo Cash, allowing our customers access to day-to-day services in efficient, time-saving and cost-effective manner.” He added.
In addition to offering customers the ability to receive money, Tigo Cash services include sending money (from as little as Rwf.100) to anyone who has a mobile number in Rwanda, pay for moto taxis, buy airtime, pay school fees or purchase Cash Power and now users are able to pay for their bus tickets at their convenience.
