Services to receive and send money through Tigopesa, registration of sim cards, customer care and buying of Internet bundles have gone closer to Kariakoo residents, thanks to the opening of new Tigo Tanzania branch.
Previously, Kariokoo residents had to walk all the way to Nkrumah road for the services. Speaking during the branch launch over the weekend, Retail Operations Manager Charles Gardner said Kariakoo was the fourth revamped branch to give customers opportunity to experience whatever they buy before leaving the shop.
Mr Gardner said the telecommunication firm plans to open four other branches as well as have a wider regional outreach.
“We already have 10 branches in Dar es Salaam and we plan to go upcountry,” he said, adding that the Kariakoo branch will be serving between 150 and 300 people.
Ilala Municipal Mayor Jerry Silaa challenged the company to ensure that only genuine and high quality gadgets are sold in its shops. Tigo Head of Customer Operations Zaem Khan said the company has embarked on revamping its shops to enable them become 100 per cent experience zones. The company recently opened another shop at Masaki area.
