Kigali, Rwanda – June 21st, 2013. – Tigo Rwanda, the most innovative operator in the country unveiled today Tigo-Matic. This is a state of the art automated teller machine enabling customers to purchase electronic airtime, recover their SIM cards (SIM swap) and perform Tigo Cash transactions (i.e: withdraw/deposit money).
During the launch held at Tigo headquarters in downtown Muhima, Rene Albert Bascope, Head of Corporate Services and Customer Operations explained that Tigo-Matic is one of the new solutions to improve services to customers.
“For the first time, Tigo customers will enjoy the ease of having an automated service at their disposal. Tigo-Matic, with its user friendly touch screen allows users to perform transactions at anytime of the day or night. Speed being the main attribute, a user is be able to make a transaction in less than a minute which would have taken longer before,” He added.
Commenting on the initiative, Diego Camberos, Chief Executive Officer of Tigo Rwanda expressed that the introduction of Tigo-Matic is in line with Tigo’s commitment to foster the use of ICT in delivering services and ushering in a new digital lifestyle era in Rwanda.
“We are delighted to introduce Tigo-Matic as it is unique in our country. “He Said. “Implementing this type of solution is part of our strategy to meet the ever growing expectations of our subscribers. Very soon, we will implement additional functionalities like Postpaid Bill settlement, sale and registration of new SIM Cards.” Camberos added.
Tigo-Matic is a novelty in Rwandan telecommunication industry, with plans of expansion across the country to bring Tigo services even closer to where people live or work.
