Turkish President Erdogan Vows Formation Of State By PKK Not Allowed

Turkish President Recep Tayyyp Erdogan said on Tuesday during a meeting with his countries headmen that his duty is to defeat terrorism, bring peace in Turkey and not to permit formation of a state by the PYD/YPG terror group, an affiliate of PKK in northern Syria.

He said the emergency powers in Turkey was introduced after the failed coup attempt last year in July that allowed the government to arrest suspects involved in the it or having ties with the terror organizations including PKK.

The president added the emergency is mostly to defeat terrorism in Turkey and bury it, and it will not be fulfilled until the people of his country, the southeast and east achieve peace.

The state of emergency was to end in July this year but was again extended for a further period of three months to pursue those suspects who have links with the Fetullah Terrorist Organization, which is blamed to have orchestrated the coup attempt in Turkey last year.

The president mentioned, “We only have one flag, one land and one state, one state within 780,000 square kilometers… We will destroy those who want to divide this land.”

PKK has waged war against the country for a separate state in northern Syria, which is southern border of Turkey, for past 33 years. Currently the PKK/PYD controls large swathes of land in northeast Syria.

Erdogan added the country would never allow the terror organization to establish a separate state and he believes his Kurdish brothers too will never give any opportunity to such formation.
