Two people died in separate incidents including a petty trader who died while making love with his girlfriend in a guest house at Kiwalani Gude area in Ilala municipality during the second day of Idd celebrations.
Ilala Regional Police Commander (RPC) Marietha Minangi, said in the city yesterday that the incident occurred at 1:30 pm, saying the petty trader, who was identified as Hamad Kiponda (46), of Kigogo Fresh had booked in the guest house dubbed Sansiro.
According to his girlfriend, Latifah Said (25), who is also a Kigogo Fresh resident, Kiponda died while in mid-action and that foams were oozing out from his mouth after the man lost control.
RPC Minangi said the deceased’s body was taken to Muhimbili National Hospital pending burial arrangements, saying police were investigating the matter to establish circumstances behind the death.
“We are holding the deceased’s girlfriend one Latifah Said for investigations into the matter,” she said. In another incident, a woman was beaten and hanged to death by her husband over jealousy at Mapogoro village in Mbarali District in Mbeya Region on Saturday.
Mbeya RPC, Diwani Athumani, said the woman who was identified as Mbuke Ochegeri (34), died at 4:30 pm, saying the deceased’s body was taken to Mbarali District Hospital for preservation pending the burial arrangements.
He said the police have launched manhunt for a suspect who was identified as Nkuva Malale (39), and that the police were still investigating the incident to establish cause of the brawl which led to death.
