The UAE Exchange & Xpress Money has injected Rwf. 1.8 million in the inaugural cricket tournament which got underway over the weekend at Kicukiro oval.
Four women and eight men teams are competing in this year’s UAE Exchange and Xpress Money T20 2013 tournament which will run until 15th September.
Unni Krishnan the UAE EXCHANGE East African regional chief handed over Rwf1.8m cheque to Rwanda Cricket Association chairman Charles Haba to run the tournament while N. Riyaz, the head of operations of UAE Exchange Rwanda also handed over playing T-shirts to all team captains and officials.
Krishnan noted, “We are committed to supporting the development of cricket in the country.” He added that his Company is delighted to have the opportunity to offer cricket fans the opportunity to enjoy their favourite sport.
Speaking about the sponsorship, the RCA General Manager Joshua Mwanja expressed his delight at the offer from UAE EXCHANGE & XPRESS MONEY and appealed to more organisations to join in the promotion of Rwandan cricket.
The tournament continues this weekend.
