UCU students arrested over theft


Mukono Police have in their custody two students of Uganda Christian University who were arrested for alleged theft of a businessman’s household property and money.

Daisy Agaba, 20 and Vivian Abigaba 21, were arrested after the trader, Mathias Seryazi reported the theft.

Mathias, a resident of Njogezi in Mukono Division says Daisy was his live in girlfriend and had plans to wed her after she completed her studies.

Mathias, a dealer in electrical appliances, had gone on a business trip to Kenya when a friend called him and informed him that he had gone to his home and found his door ajar, with the house completely empty. He said he had reported the incident at police.


Following a thorough manhunt, the two students were arrested with a stolen computer, two matresses, a 29 inch TV screen, a sofa sette, and cash worth sh800,000.

The crime boss at Mukono police, Henry Mugumya said the students have been charged with theft on file nimber SD REF.8/26/1/2014.
