Kenyan riders will not enjoy any romance in Sunday’s second round of the Mountain Dew FIM East and Central Africa motocross championship at the Motorsport Arena –Busiika as it was last month in the first round held in Nairobi.
Uganda’s team captain Arthur Blick Jr, revealed this after the top riders Maxime van Pee, Asaf Natan, Barack Orland and Yannick Duyck confirmed their participation in Sunday’s event.
“We are set and ready for the show and our team has been boosted by top MX1 riders Asaf Natan, Barack Orland, Maxime Van Pee, and Yannick Duyck that missed the first round Kenya,” Blick stated with confidence.
Blick will captain a strong 50-man team to wrestle Kenya who lead the championship with 896pts after winning the first round with cumulative 1632 points while Uganda collected 736 points and Tanzania 67points.
“We need points and their presence has made our team stronger.” Blick stressed before confirming the arrival of the World’s Number 5 freestyle motocross rider, South African Nick de Wit, who will be the guest rider on that day.
The group will be intent on ousting Kenya’s top MX1 riders Shivam Vinayak, Tutu Maina, Cruze Muigai who had a podium finish in the previous event and jetted in the country on Thursday morning.
Equally prepared are the youngsters in the 85cc, 65cc and 50cc category who collected maximum points for Uganda in Kenya.
Alistair Blick and Ali Omar will lead the 85cc category against Kenya’s Elias Sherman and Rolf Kihara who were among the top finishers in the first round.
Blick further added that Tanzania’s team is expected in the country by Friday morning.
