URA make light work of struggling Proline

URA whipped Proline 3-1 in the FUFA Super League fixture at Lugogo to move into fourth place on the table as the first round drew to a close.

Owen Kasule was on the score sheet for the taxmen.

Owen Kasule gave URA the lead courtesy of a free-kick outside the 18 yard box in the 15th minute before Fen Ali Muhamad struck to stretch the lead off a cross from Frank Kalanda.

In the second half, Kalanda won the ball in his own half from a corner kick—sprinting clear to round off Proline keeper Charles Lukwago and shot into an empty net for 3-0.

Proline grabbed a consolation goal through Andrew Kidega’s header.

Paul Nkata coming off narrow 3-2 defeat to KCCA was glad to register success.

“It’s good we have won and moved to up the table and this is a great motivation to us,” URA coach Paul Nkata stated.

Proline coach Shafiq Bisaso said that his boys played well but they were just overpowered by the opposition but he will fight hard to see that his team beats relegation.

“We are concerned about the defeats. We have to go back and assess our weaknesses before the second half to be able to fight relegation,” Bisaso stated in an interview after the game.

“We have to stay in the Super League if we are to build our culture and capacity to contest for the title,” he added.
