USAID deputy administrator promotes economic growth in Tanzania, Malawi

From September 4th to 8th, Isobel Coleman, who works for the United States government, is going to Tanzania and Malawi. She wants to help these African countries in a few important ways.

She will join a big group of people from the U.S. government in Tanzania to talk about how to make sure there is enough food in Africa. They will discuss how the food problems of the world affect Africa. Isobel Coleman will also meet with important Tanzanian leaders to make the U.S. and Tanzania work together better. The goal is to help people in Tanzania have more food to eat, better nutrition, and more investments from businesses.

Secondly, she will go to Malawi and there she will talk to many people and groups to understand how the economy works there and what challenges people face. She will also meet with important people in the Malawian government to show that the U.S. wants to help the economy grow in the country in a way that includes everyone.

Isobel Coleman’s trip to Tanzania and Malawi shows that the United States wants to help these countries in Africa grow their economies, protect democracy, and make sure human rights are respected.
