As the media promo tour for her new album continues, the ‘We Can’t Stop’ hitmaker is climbing up to the top spot of Billboard Hot 100 with her second single ’Wrecking Ball’.
Miley Cyrus has a new look. The 20-year-old songstress dyed her honey-colored short hair with a darker brunette hue, and proudly showed it off while out and about in Paris recently. She greeted her fans and took pictures with them, sticking out her tongue whenever she struck a pose for the cameras.
The former Disney star emerged from her hotel rocking a dark blue plaid shirt, black skinny jeans, oversized thick-rimmed sunglasses, a couple of statement necklaces, and high-sky heels. At one point, she told the fans to keep watching her music video on repeats so they could break the record on VEVO.
Miley has been in Europe for a while now to promote her upcoming studio album “Bangerz”. She became talks of the town in the past few days due to her jaw-dropping performance at the MTV Video Music Awards and later her naked appearance on the newly-released “Wrecking Ball” music video.
Public’s reactions were split regarding the raunchy appearance she recently displayed, but Miley simply shrugged it off. “I think the video is much more, if people get past the point that I’m naked and you actually look at me you can tell that I actually look more broken then even the song sounds,” she defended her video.
Her father, country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus, also came to her defense. “It wouldn’t have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt, a tux or a nun’s habit – her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God-given talent,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
Liam Hemsworth, who didn’t accompany Miley to the MTV VMAs, hasn’t officially issued a statement to comment on the controversies surrounding Miley’s racy image, but “The Hunger Games” actor was reportedly shocked by his fiancee’s antics.
While Miley was in Europe, he recently jetted off to Toronto to attend the premiere of his brother Chris Hemsworth’s movie “Rush”.
Regardless of the pros and cons, her full-throttled efforts to draw attention to her music seemed to pay off quite well. After enjoying the success of lead single ”We Can’t Stop” which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100, she is now heading for her first No. 1 on the singles chart with “Wrecking Ball”.
