Vision Group has been recognised with a certificate award from Superbrands for being one of the best brands in Uganda.
It received the award during the certificate hand-over ceremony at New Vision head offices yesterday.
Superbrands is the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding. It identifies and pays tribute to exceptional brands by recognising, rewarding and reinforcing leading brands from all over the world.
While receiving the award, Vision Group’s company secretary Gervase Ndyanabo, acknowledged Superbrands for their effort in rewarding best companies in the country and vowed to continue giving the best services to the consumers.
“Vision Group has been getting Superbrands certificates every year since 2008 and is proud to be associated with Superbrands projects. We promise to continue serving our consumers with high-quality products,” said Ndyanabo on Wednesday.
“Being the best in Uganda is not enough. We always want to maintain international standards which are done through innovations based on research,” he added.
Vision Group comprises newspapers, magazines, websites, radio and television stations.
The newspapers include New Vision, Rupiny, Bukedde, Etop, Orumuri, The Kampala Sun, Sunday Vision and Saturday Vision, while television stations comprise Urban, TV West, Bukedde 1 and 2.
The radio stations include Bukedde FM, XFM, Radio Rupiny, Radio West, Etop Radio and Arua One while the magazines are: Premiership, Flair, City Beat, Bride and Groom.

According to Jawal Jaffer, the project director Superbrands East Africa, there is a criteria used to select the award winning brands.
“We use both the consumer feedback mechanism as well as that of an expert panel also known as the brand council to come up with the best brand companies,” said Jawal.
