The woman whose identity has not been revealed disrupted other passengers by singing Whitney’s popular song ‘I Will Always Love You’ nonstop in a flight from Los Angeles to New York.
An American Airlines plane had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City after a passenger did not stop singing “I Will Always Love You”, which was written and performed by Dolly Parton and re-recorded by Whitney Houston, during a flight from Los Angeles to New York last Thursday, May 7. A federal air Marshall who was on the plane later put her in cuffs. “The woman was being disruptive and was removed from the plane for interfering with the flight crew,” Kansas City International Airport spokesman Joe McBride told local media KCTV5.
The problem with the Whitney-wannabe apparently started before the flight took off, when she was involved in an argument with another lady. Max Paul of NBC News, who boarded the same plane, told E! News about the incident, “It was so intense that I thought it might get physical but the other woman walked away and that was the end of it.”
Paul added that after the plane took off, he heard loud singing from the back of the plane. Two hours after taking off, the bad singing finally got on their nerves. Paul said some passengers were amused, but others were clearly unhappy and tried to cover their ears with headphones.
“Finally the singing stopped and was replaced by screaming. The air marshal came back and failed to calm her down, so the pilot came on and informed us that because of this unruly passenger we were being diverted to Kansas City. It seemed like the singing got louder after that,” Paul recalled.
The woman, however, was released without any charges. She was not allowed to board other American Airlines flights to take her to her destination. The woman reportedly claimed that the incident happened because she was diabetic.
