Zuku beams World athletics championships live

Local Zuku Satellite has confirmed that it will be media partner of the 14th IAAF World Athletics Championships starting in Moscow Russia today.

zuku_logoZuku will have live coverage of the entire championship that starts today up to August18. They will also have a Live Studio Discussion. The Head of Sports of Wananchi Programming, Gary Rathbone said that Zuku is proud to be broadcasting Live the 2013 IAAF World Championship and proud of East African athletes representing at the event. He added:

“Our athletes are expected to excel at the games and we will bring the breathtaking competitions to your homes. “Our athletes are some of Africa’s brightest stars that continue to inspire us to reach for the stars,” said Rathbone.

Tanzania will be represented by Msenduki Mohammed and Faustine Mussa both participating in the Marathon competition of the championships. While Tanzania is represented by only two athletes Kenya will be represented by 49 athletes while Uganda will have 12 athletes and Rwanda as well as Burundi have got one participant.

The World Championships is organised by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) currently headquartered in Monaco, France. Originally, it was organised every four years, but this changed in 1991 and it has since been organised biennially.

Not less than 206 nations are set to compete at Moscow 2013 and the IAAF is playing their part in helping many of the small teams enjoy a taste of the action, too.
